This spring the Division for Higher Education will run a brand-new professional development course for teaching staff: "Rethinking Assessment." This course, running from March 17 to May 26, 2025, is designed to enhance educators' understanding of assessment and examination practices in higher education.

“A key part of the course is the individual project, where participants design or revise an assessment task for their own courses. This hands-on approach helps teachers apply what they’ve learned to their specific teaching context,” says Johanna Bergqvist Rydén, one of the course leaders.

The course emphasizes active participation, with mandatory workshops and collaborative work, all contributing to a comprehensive portfolio for final assessment. It is particularly beneficial for those looking to deepen their assessment expertise or those who aim to take on roles as course leaders or examiners.

Offered in collaboration with the Unit for Educational Services and MedCUL, Rethinking Assessment is a valuable step in advancing pedagogical practices at Lund University.
